Racing NSW is the peak body for thoroughbred horse racing throughout NSW. Its responsibilities include commercial, regulatory and integrity leadership of the industry.
An excellent opportunity has now arisen to be employed in this exciting industry and join Racing NSW’s Integrity Department. Based at our offices in the Sydney CBD, the successful applicant will work with a team of Investigators and Stipendiary Stewards, to maintain the integrity and reputation of the thoroughbred racing industry.
The successful applicant will be required to work on a five out of seven-day roster, which includes weekend work on raceday. The successful applicant will report to the General Manager – Integrity and assist both Investigators and Stipendiary Stewards to investigate complaints, compile briefs of evidence, conduct compliance checks, proactive operations, attend race meetings and inquiries.
The successful applicant will have strong investigative skills to provide operational advice to staff located across New South Wales. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in conducting lead investigations to identify and thoroughly investigate potential breaches of the Rules of Racing, including equine welfare.
The successful candidate will also have experience in compiling briefs of evidence, and a willingness to work flexible hours. Knowledge of the thoroughbred racing industry and the Rules of Racing is not essential but is desirable.
The successful applicant will have:
- strong analytical skills;
- excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written communication;
- the ability to work well under pressure;
- a knowledge of the Rules of Racing;
- proven computer skills including the use of analytical tools and software;
- the ability to work well both independently and part of a team;
- capacity to work well under pressure to meet team and department objectives;
- a valid driver’s licence.
Persons who have served or are currently serving in the NSW Police Force or who have established connections with law enforcement agencies are encouraged to apply.
Provision of disclosure statements and adherence to the Racing NSW Code of Conduct for its employees are necessary requirements. The successful applicant will be required to submit National Police Check.
