  • Providing timely investigative responses and co-ordinating effective initial action regarding serious energy incidents, including scene attendance and preservation, where required.
  • Contributing to an effective and supportive work environment through mentoring, participation in education and training programs, and supporting the overall professional development of team members.
  • Providing timely advice to senior managers and other relevant stakeholder on trends, systemic issues and ongoing investigations.
  • Contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and internal guidance for investigations and disciplinary action to support the achievement of team objectives and continuous business improvement.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent qualifications in investigations.
  • Experience conducting inquiries and comprehensive criminal investigations to support strong enforcement action, including prosecution and disciplinary action.
  • Clear understanding and demonstrated application of contemporary investigation processes and practices, including forensic interviewing and statement taking.
  • Demonstrated incident response experience, including site attendance and management, evidence collection and preservation, and liaising with third parties (including other agencies or authorities).
  • Knowledge of the Victorian energy safety legislative framework (or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex regulatory assessments informed by legislation, policy frameworks, and evidence.
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical application of rules of evidence and experience in compiling briefs of evidence.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality reports and briefs.
  • The ability to work autonomously, but also collaboratively and effectively as a team member.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders; anticipating, and responding to their needs, and nurturing productive working relationships.
