About the Role
Safeguarding Services is looking for dynamic individuals to join our growing team of Investigators. As an Investigator you will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to safeguarding through thorough and diligent investigative processes. This position is most suited to independent contractors looking for regular investigative work and plenty of variety.
Reporting to the Investigations Manager, the role of Investigator is primarily responsible for undertaking client investigations and report writing. Due to the nature of the work the investigative outcomes need to stand up to regulatory and judicial scrutiny.
Duties include:
- Conduct enquiries that will inform investigations
- Interview witnesses, complainants, and respondents
- Gather evidence in a legal and ethical manner
- Prepare reports, briefing notes and correspondence to senior stakeholders and clients
About You
To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to manage complaints and investigations
- Ability to conduct investigations of harm to children and adults at risk
- Specialised skills in interviewing children
- Understanding of contemporary investigation methodologies, trends and strategies
- Understanding of relevant industrial relations principals and policy, standards and instructions
- Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and protocols addressing allegations of child protection and misconduct
- Understanding of child protection protocols for child related institutions throughout Australia.
To be successful in this role you need to possess:
- A current Victorian Private Security Licence (Investigator)
- A Certificate III in Investigative Services
- A high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and listening skills
- An ability to convey empathy and concern for children, adults and their family members who may have been harmed
- An ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with a high degree of integrity
