Our client is a global brand operating in the Australian retirement income field. The newly created Investment Analyst role will support the Investment Manager and Head of Investments in all investment-related matters including asset liability management, hedging, asset manager management, and investment planning and monitoring. The role will involve liasing with globally the organisation's asset managers and investment arm.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The successful candidate will work with the Investment Manager to coordinate on strategic repsonsiblities and process improvement.
- Stay updated on macroeconomic and market happenings, and relay information to management and the board as needed.
- Conduct routine asset-liability analyses for existing and upcoming products, working closely with product, actuarial, and capital teams.
- Perform the integration of Strategic Asset Allocations into investment mandates.
- Oversee portfolio compliance with asset allocation, counterparty concentration, limits, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the hedging strategy and implementation, incl. option pricing. Analyse derivatives transactions and hedge efficiency, in collaboration with the global asset management arm of the company.
Experience Required
Ideally, applicants will have a number of key experiences:
- Degree in investment, finance, mathematics, or a related field. Possession of a CFA qualification is advantageous.
- 5-7 years of experience in the financial services sector, ideally in roles related to investment, middle office operations, or asset liability management.
- Demonstrated expertise in general economic and financial market principles.
- Proficiency in handling Fixed Interest assets and derivatives.
- Exposure to Asset Liability Management and capital is desirable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels to positively influence risk management practices within the organization.
- Strong dedication to developing and enhancing processes in the investment domain.
- Effective time management abilities, with a knack for prioritization and meeting deadlines.
- Proven track record in managing stakeholders in a diverse and dynamic environment.
