Who we are looking for:
An experienced Investment Analyst to take a hands-on role supporting our Investment Consultants, including:
- Working with our research team to understand our macro/markets and fund manager research and how this is impacting portfolios;
- Being accountable for the creation and delivery of regular reporting communications and analysis to senior stakeholders and clients;
- Trading and re-balancing client portfolios against agreed exposure targets and monitoring the performance of those portfolios;
- Continuously evaluating the relevance of portfolio analytics tools and research for the current product mix and market conditions;
- Proactively and effectively communicating with the Investment Consultants to ensure that they have the appropriate information required for each client interaction;
- Preparing regular reports for investment committee meetings, and managing action items from those meetings;
- Proactively suggesting, leading and participating in value-add projects and process enhancements to improve efficiencies and mitigate risk within the group;
- Undertaking ad hoc analytical requests from our clients.
The position is ideal for someone looking to build on their investment analytics experience, whilst complimenting these skills with some client-facing interaction. The is an in-office role based in Martin Place, Sydney CBD.
Education and Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in the investment industry in an analytical role e.g. performance or attribution analysis;
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field and interest in undertaking or already working towards a Finance Masters or CFA;
- Knowledge of portfolio management practices and capital markets;
- Knowledge of Australian domiciled investment funds, SMAs and ETFs;
- Excellent data analysis skills and proficiency in advanced Excel & SQL (knowledge of Python would be viewed favourably);
- Analytical mind with good problem-solving skills;
- Very strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all work;
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines;
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously; and
- Knowledge of Morningstar Direct and Refinitiv (Thompson Reuters, Datastream) is desirable but not essential.
Salary package
A competitive package comprising a base salary and performance-based incentive, consistent with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
