To assist with our expansion, we’re looking for an Investment Associate to join our team, providing venture debt financing for transformative companies.
About the Role
This position will be responsible for identifying and developing potential investment opportunities. You will be required to perform due diligence and valuation analyses, manage your own portfolio, and implement strategies to help companies attain their goals.
Duties:
- Support the identification of deals relevant to the investment mandates of OneVentures Funds IV and Fund VI.
- Evaluate investment opportunities for relevant OneVentures funds.
- For deals you take forward: conduct due diligence, establish terms of investment, present contracts and oversee the investment post financing.
- Assist the Directors and Partners in managing the funds’ portfolio investments by establishing an operational relationship between OneVentures and the company, monitoring specific investments for financial accounting and management review purposes, and helping portfolio companies with their strategic and growth plans to enhance their chances of success.
- You will also be required to perform the below to help further the business’ goals:
- Representing OneVentures with the partner team in the innovation and investment community of Australia.
- Help drive OneVentures innovative culture as a firm creating a new best practice in VC funds management.
- Building strong relationships with local ecosystem including founders, VCs, advisors and wider ecosystem participants
Fund administration – assisting the Finance and Operations team with quarterly investor reporting and asset valuation
Qualifications and ExperienceRequired
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics, or Sciences/ Technology/ Engineering
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of sector experience e.g. finance, strategic or management consulting, or VC/PE/Funds Management
- Sound analytical, written, and technical skills, including proficiency in financial modelling, valuation, and returns analyses
- Relationship management skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties
- A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team context
