About the Role
The role is located in the Childers region, QLD.
Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be responsible for all hands-on irrigation related duties. The absolute focus of this role is to ensure that the irrigation systems provide our orchard with one of the most important nutrients, water!
Responsibilities
• Assist with the programming of automated irrigation controllers
• Using soil moisture probes, manual checking and other tools to monitor and apply irrigation water
• Assist with the application of fertilizer through fertigation systems
• Follow irrigation schedules, recording all irrigation inputs
• Irrigation labour tasks such as repairing valves, sprinklers, digging trenches, replacing poly pipe
Essential Criteria
• Previous experience in farming/landscaping irrigation
• Demonstrated experience with irrigation controllers (manual and automated OR the willingness to learn how to use automated controllers)
• Ability to work with APP based software, communicate findings, read and execute watering schedules
• Physically fit to undertake labour tasks
• Computer literacy for digital timesheets
• Current QLD Drivers Licence and reliable transport
