G J Walsh & Co is a CPA practice with office locations in Ipswich CBD, Springfield Central, Boonah, and Southport. A team-driven business that has been providing professional services to clientele across Australia and overseas for more than 30 years. We're in an exciting period of change and progression, looking to expand our team to continue to meet the demands of our clients. Our office is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team of professional staff servicing all office locations in Ipswich, Springfield, Boonah, and Southport, with flexibility to suit your needs, starting immediately.

Our ideal candidate

We're looking for a CPA or CA qualified Accountant with at least 5+ years of experience in the public accounting space. You will have had experience in preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for various entity structures.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The successful applicant will assist the G J Walsh & Co team in providing our clients with professional services such as:

• Analysing business or financial data.
• Examine financial records with attention to detail.
• Calculate tax information including preparation of Tax Planning.
• Prepare financial documents, reports, or budgets.
• Report information to Partners.
• Maintain data in information systems or databases with accuracy.
• Develop business or financial information systems.
• Prepare financial documents.
• Prepare Activity Statements such as BAS & IAS and other GST related obligations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

Skills and experience

The following technical skills and experience are favourable:

• Knowledge in Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Xero Tax & Xero Workpapers
• Intermediate level in Microsoft Office 365 suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint
• Knowledge is BGL Simple Fund 360
• Bookkeeping Software: Xero, MYOB, Intuit Quickbooks, and other relevant record-keeping platforms
