About the Role:
Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be responsible for all irrigation related duties at our Winfield farms. Your focus will be to monitor, record and accurately supply water to maximise production across orchards. This role has the potential to go permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Programming a range of automated irrigation controllers
2. Using soil moisture probes, manual checking and other tools to monitor and apply irrigation water
3. Accurately applying fertilizer through fertigation systems
4. Maintaining all irrigation infrastructure. Use of preventative maintenance programs to ensure reliability and accuracy of the irrigation systems
5. Scheduling and recording all irrigation inputs
6. Supervising and organising staff completing irrigation R&M duties
7. Liaising with the growing team on managing water and nutrition inputs to maximise output
Key Selection Criteria for this position:
1. Previous experience in farming operations & irrigation is essential
2. Use of irrigation controllers and experience in horticultural irrigation
3. Physically fit
4. Good verbal and written skills
5. Current QLD Drivers Licence
6. The ability to travel and work at different sites in line with irrigation requirements.
