The IT Cloud Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining our Microsoft 365, Azure environments and other cloud solutions. They play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our cloud-based applications and services, including but not limited to Microsoft 365 (M365), Azure, AWS and other cloud and SaaS/PaaS/IaaS platforms. In addition to these responsibilities, there is also have a focus on ensuring security and compliance within the cloud environment and a need to support on premise technology as we continue our adoption of Cloud.

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Administration and Management:
- Administer, configure, and maintain cloud services and applications, including Microsoft 365 (M365) and Azure.
- Create and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in cloud environments
- Implement and manage policies, access controls, and resource optimisation in the cloud.
- Configure and manage cloud resources, virtual machines, and networks.
- Collaborate with cloud administrators to optimise cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Azure services and applications.
Microsoft 365 (M365) Management:
- Monitor and manage M365 services such as Entra, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
- Troubleshoot and resolve M365-related issues, including email, collaboration, and communication problems.
- Implement and manage security and compliance features in M365.
Cloud Automation and Orchestration:
- Develop and implement automation for provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources.
- Implement orchestration tools to streamline and optimise workflows, ensuring efficiency and consistency in cloud operations
SaaS/PaaS/IaaS Management:
- Evaluate, select, and manage third-party SaaS/PaaS/IaaS solutions that align with organisational needs and standards.
- Oversee the integration of SaaS/PaaS/IaaS into the overall IT ecosystem, ensuring seamless functionality and security.
Voice and Networking:
- Ensure seamless connectivity and optimise voice and network configurations for cloud services.
- Collaborate to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues affecting cloud services.
Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance policies within cloud environments.
- Monitor for security threats and respond to security incidents promptly.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Collaborate with security teams to enhance cloud security posture
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related field, or relevant experience.
- Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or relevant Azure certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience with cloud administration, including Microsoft 365 (M365) and Azure.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security and compliance features.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and data governance practices.
- Strong networking skills and experience.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for cloud administration.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
