The Role:
The IT Helpdesk Support Officer role is to provide first-line of support for current hardware and standard software, contributing to and introducing hardware and software standards across the business. Your focus is to support internal customers in the use of systems, upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, especially multi-user computers, such as servers.
This is a 12-month contract role with a view to extend.
- working knowledge of AD, Windows Terminal Servers, DNS, DHCP, and Windows 7-11
- install and configure standard hardware and software
- provide initial hardware and software start-up training for new and existing employees
- respond to and provide local/remote technical IT support to employees across the business
- perform diagnosis and fault resolution on tickets providing high-level technical support
- administration of cloud services such as Office 365, Microsoft Online Exchange.
- managing mobile devices (iOS, Android) using Air watch (MDM)
- knowledge on Systems Centre Configuration Manager and Symantec Endpoint Protection
- analyze online Help Desk enquiries and provide support within the agreed timeframes
- project tasks in IT Service Delivery & other IT related initiatives
- mobile and remote computing (Windows 7, 8 and 10, IOS, Android, Air watch MDM) AWMS
- experience with Windows Server 2008 R2 – Windows Server 2016 , Windows 10
About you:
- 2 years + proven experience in a similar role
- formal qualifications in IT at a Cert III level or above, with Microsoft Certification highly desirable
- ability to meet deadlines effectively
- supporting 24/7 systems and IT operations
- capable of dealing with high volume & high priority tickets on a regular basis
- proven experience providing face to face, phone support and remote services
- ability to be adaptable and respond quickly to changing needs in a demanding environment
- strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- excellent written and verbal communication, including interpersonal, negotiation and liaison skills
