About the Information Technology team:
The Information Technology Services forms part of Operational Support and Governance. Information Services provides infrastructure, systems, communication services, software development services, information analytics and records management services for Corporate and Medical Research.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
Reporting to the IT Support Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing front line support to corporate staff and researches through call handling, ticket creation, support triage and proactive maintenance in a large enterprise environment.
The key responsibilities are to:
- Provide professional second and selected third tier support with a customer centric focus.
- Keep clients informed on status of incidents or service requests.
- Assist in co-ordinating, assessing and allocating priorities to incoming support requests.
- Produce training documentation for QIMR Berghofer staff members, including regular training tutorials for new users.
- Setup, configure and network new computers as required (Windows, MacOS, Ubuntu, Linux)
- Manage desktop operating system deployment software.
- Manage desktop application deployment system.
- Manage & maintain end-point device protection system for desktop computing environment.
- Act as an escalation point for other members of the user support team, and a conduit to other IT teams where appropriate.
- Basic configuration for voice communication systems.
- Liaise with external vendors regarding hardware, software, licensing for end user computing environments.
- Document technical procedures and user knowledge articles.
- Ensure work practices comply with the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act, related legislative requirements and the Institute’s OH&S policies and procedures.
- Other IT duties as directed by supervisor or manager.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have;
- Advanced knowledge within the Information Technology domain including Windows, Linux, Mac, and iOS operating systems.
- Previous experience working in a Tier 1 IT support role (at least 2 years’ experience).
- Demonstrated experience and high-level knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Printing, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365 Cloud services.
- High level understanding of MDM solutions and device SOE management.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously or collaborate as a member of a technical team.
- Demonstrate interpersonal capabilities to build professional relationships within IT and with key partners within the Institute.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A focus on continued learning and improvement.
- Act in a way that respects confidential and sensitive information and meets a high standard of behaviour and integrity in dealing with users.
Remuneration: Salary range is $85,503 to $94,158 p.a. plus super, plus salary packaging. This is a permanent, full-time appointment.
