About the role:

Victoria Police has a role to serve the Victorian community and uphold the law to promote a safe, secure and orderly society. Victoria Police provides frontline policing services to the Victorian community across 54 Police Service Areas, within 21 divisions and four regions.

Professional Standards Command's role is to support and promote a culture of high ethical standards throughout Victoria Police. This is critical for many reasons, but primarily:​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • To maintain community trust and confidence and ensure that Victoria Police can continue to serve the community and uphold the law.
  • To maintain the ethical health of the workforce and reduce ethical risks and workplace harm, thus contributing to workforce performance and pride.

Your duties will include:

The IT Unit has general oversight of Professional Standards Command's IT requirements. This includes providing IT support for printers, audio visual equipment, mobile phones, networks, Telstra modems, laptops, Apple products, general IT software\ hardware support and troubleshooting.

This unit also assists in the coordination of commands and corporate projects where necessary and the procurement and deployment of IT and Telecommunication equipment. The PSC IT Unit also provides advice, guidance, and support on a range of IT and Telecommunication issues and requests.

Reporting to the Manager PSC ROCSID Application and IT Infrastructure, the IT Support Analyst is primary role is to provide a range of IT support and services for Professional Standards Command and ongoing support to Victoria Police Complaint Management System (ROCSID).

Your duties will include:

  • Assist the Manager, ROCSID Applications and IT Infrastructure with the management and administration of the Professional Standards Command's investigations related computer databases

  • Process all IT access requests to PSC IT systems, data and updating of the PSC directories. The job duties include Administer Active Directory user access accounts and audits.

  • Provide IT technical support across a range of technologies and systems used by Victoria Police and for non-Corporate IT systems as well.

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Victoria Police technologies and systems with particular focus on identifying problems that may impact on operational performance and service delivery.

  • Perform administration duties when required. 

 As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Must be knowledgeable in software, hardware, and networks (advanced computer skills). They must be critical thinkers and problem-solvers with great attention to detail. Since end user support and teamwork are important aspects of the role, excellent communication and people skills are required.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Web development, Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Information Technology (Networking) or equivalent. 

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
