AFL SportsReady (AFLSR) is a national not for profit employment and education company that has facilitated employment and education for thousands of young Australians since 1994. Whilst boasting a rich history in the football industry, we have expanded our reach to create tailored education and employment pathways for individuals from all walks of life who are seeking to kick-start their careers. Our Employment Operations division actively supports hundreds of trainees and apprentices throughout across Australia. We place them with host employers, enabling them to acquire on-the-job experience while pursuing formal qualifications.

We have kick-started the careers of approximately 17,500 jobseekers, including over 3,000 Indigenous Australians, and supported hundreds of organisations and businesses right across Australia. Our First Nations program, Warumilang, represents the support and opportunities created for Indigenous people through quality education and employment.
We focus on strengthening relationships, promoting respect, and creating employment and education opportunities for Indigenous people. As an education provider, AFLSR offers courses in both sport and business, spanning from Certificate II to Certificate IV, showcasing our commitment to preparing individuals with skills that are applicable across a diverse range of sectors and career types.
AFLSR currently operates on a hybrid working environment, with minimum 2 physical days in the office and a combination of 3-days working from home and conducting site visits. AFLSR’s head office is based in Melbourne, with satellite offices based in Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane, and Sydney.
THE ROLE
As an IT Support Officer, you will be a key member of the IT Department, helping to maximise technology efficiencies, and providing services to all areas of the business in accordance with the organisation’s values and strategic objectives.
This is a hybrid role working both from the Abbotsford office a minimum of 2 days per week and working from home.
Key responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:
- Providing technical support for internal staff and end-users;
- Troubleshooting hardware, software and network problems independently;
- Assisting staff in utilising the organisation’s digital platforms, providing guidance and training;
- Acting as a point of call for the IT Helpdesk, prioritising and managing multiple support tickets simultaneously;
- Collaborating with other departments to support initiatives, participating in project planning, testing, and implementation;
- Maintaining current technology and industry best practice knowledge;
- Participating in post-implementation reviews and feedback sessions to identify areas of improvement and lessons learned;
- Coordinating with staff for provision of equipment and return during staff exits; and
- Coordinating with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements as needed.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Relevant qualifications and / or sector experience;
- Ability to identify, analyse and solve problems related to IT services;
- Experience in desktop support of standard operating systems, back-office applications and Microsoft Admin Centres;
- Skilled in troubleshooting all facets of SharePoint, with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 products;
- Ability to provide IT related services to clients promptly and efficiently;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively and consultatively in a teamwork environment;
- Up to date COVID-19 vaccination status, including any relevant booster shots in line with ATAGI recommendations.
DESIRABLE
- Experience with WordPress sites and plugins;
- Experience in data transformation and CRM database environments; and
- Experience will automation workflows and process building i.e.: Power Automate
