As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in administration of systems, including but not limited to servers, virtualisation technologies, cloud computing, data centre management, storage and backup infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services while prioritising security and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain IT systems and applications
- Work alongside and act as an escalation point for IT helpdesk
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the implementation of innovative technologies
- Conduct regular system audits and proactively monitor IT infrastructure to identify potential issues and implement preventive measures
- Ensuring all systems are configured with a security-first mindset
- Responsible for ongoing development, installation, configuration, Testing, maintenance and support of Infrastructure, Systems and Applications (On-Premise and Cloud)
- Implement automation tools or scripts to streamline deployments, monitor infrastructure and maintain security
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions
Skills and Experience Required:
- 5+ years experience in IT, preferably in a support or administrative capacity
- Formal qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Strong technical Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Exchange, Active Directory, O365 and Windows operating systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Experience with Palo Alto PANOS, Meraki, Hyper-V and Microsoft Intune is preferred
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) will be an advantage
