About this opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, customer-centric team player to join our team in Sydney. You will provideinformation technology support to optimize operational efficiency, responsible for the day-to-day operation, management, and User Support for OOCL. You will be responsible resolving technical issues, maintaining hardware and software installations, and improving IT systems. 

  • Support staff about IT hardware and software matters in Australia & New Zealand.
  • To provide continuous system training for all Customer service team
  • Be an interface between the IT development team and Customer Service team.
  • Help with the registration of CargoSmart, MY OOCL & Freight Smart
  • Help with the Export and import productivity development program by improving the effectiveness of the response time for customers.
  • Develop an email distribution solution.
  • Provide support with e-Commerce.
  • Act as a mediator between sales, GISC, and CSV to improve freight smart bookings.
  • Coordinate to increase the percentage of Electronic Bill of lading by communicating and helping the customers with any specifications.
  • Guiding OOCL customers on how to use the website cargo tracking for transshipment and all other relevant import information. 
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing IT procedures considering IT Strategy and plans, project requirements, and cyber and information security requirements.
  • Responsible for coordinating technical support team and activities (Service request/Incident Mgmt.) and monitoring performance.  
  • Address root causes and seek continuous improvements – constantly look for ways to improve work processes.
  • Work independently and assist the team in realizing goals and standards – share knowledge and best practice.

  • At least 2 to 3 years' experience in the Shipping Industry
  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology
  • Expertise in IT tools and concepts, such as operating systems and internet protocol suites.
  • Confident learning new computer systems and internal procedures
  • Be an excellent team player and be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • The successful candidate will also display excellent communication skills, ability to converse with people of all levels and is well organized, efficient and effective.
