Paxus is partnering with a large state government department who are currently undertaking uplift within their Information Management branch. This multi-stream program is focused on uplifting the Information Management platforms and technologies that are used throughout the state. As part of this program, an opportunity for an Iteration Manager to join their North Brisbane Office on an initial 12 month contract as become available.
About the role
As the Iteration Manager, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams within the program and will use a blend of both agile practices and PRINCE2 project management methodologies for delivery. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritise and manage project backlogs through sprint delivery driving continuous improvement and process optimisation practices to enhance delivery efficiency.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Determine priorities and apply a range of agile practices and processes that maximise benefits to the program including improved team productivity, increased work progress during sprints and enhanced product delivery success.
- Guide and coach the teams and business stakeholders in relevant agile/scrum principles, team practices and processes to increase scrum maturity, support productive interactions, relationships and achievement of deliverables.
- Develop and implement processes, practices and tools that allow for multiple paths for delivery through simplified, consistent, reusable and flexible methodologies and perform reviews of the deliverables based on acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to develop and facilitate team communication and collaboration strategies, including daily stand up meetings, iteration planning, team demonstrations, iteration retrospectives and planning events, to monitor work progress, manage issues arising and organise work to best support team productivity.
- Demonstrated experience as an Iteration Manager/Lead
- Strong knowledge of and experience applying agile principles to support successful project delivery
- Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and supporting teams to adopt new practices aimed at enhancing flexibility, responsiveness and delivery success.
- Experience identifying issues, impediments and blockers to work progress at critical project stages and facilitating team solutions to address these.
- Applied knowledge and understanding of software development and release processes and procedures.
