- Develop and maintain relationship with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor to influence outcomes to ensure they align with project and organisational goals;
- Develop and govern the application development and integration patterns;
- Provide consultation on the design principles;
- Review high level design artefacts to ensure the design is in alignment with the proposed architecture;
- Lead the solution architecture for entire programs, projects or initiatives;
- Publish detailed solution architecture artefacts that describe the entire solution and is aligned with the broader enterprise architecture target state, this includes working collaboratively with other domain architects and subject matter experts within IT, the business and the industry.
- Responsible and accountable of the program architecture and governance, supported by other Domain Architects (e.g. Infrastructure Architect, Wholesale Application Architect). Any deviations from the target enterprise architecture are to be approved by the enterprise architecture council;
- Act as the primary member of the project design authority presenting / reviewing the architecture or technical options packs with supporting recommendation, representing a program;
- Provide required architecture artefacts and review industry artefacts to support industry facing activities such as systems working group, joint focus groups.
- Perform impact analysis at the program level for the change requests and the feedback arising out of consultation process;
- Provide input as requested to management artefacts (e.g. board papers, steer co packs), in relation to solution architecture;
- Identify and raise industry, business, program and technology level risks and issues; and
- Provide and govern architectural guidance to external third-parties implementing the solutions in various areas such as applications, API gateway, integration.
Job Qualifications
- Experience in developing and governing the infrastructure, application and integration patterns and standards as relevant;
- Highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including consultation, influencing senior stakeholders;
- Experience negotiating technology / business / investment outcomes and responsibilities with both business representatives and technology service providers;
- Proven experience in contributing to the development of strategic roadmaps and contributing to the development of a technology / digital strategy;
- Experience on the development of business capability models;
- Knowledge of and adherence to change management and quality assurance systems; and
- Effective internal and external stakeholder engagement and management.
Education and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology, engineering or equivalent;
- Recognised professional certifications (e.g. TOGAF) or other industry-accepted architecture methodologies;
- Three to five years’ experience in Australian energy or utility industry;
- Three to five years’ demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: electricity retail, electricity wholesale, gas retail and gas wholesale;
- Three to five years’ experience developing solution architecture in the relevant domains.
