We are an independent legal news publisher looking for a self-starting reporter to join our team in Sydney, covering the Federal Court and the NSW Supreme Court. The reporter role presents an exciting opportunity for journalists with 1 to 2 years experience to report on trials in the busiest courts in Australia for Lawyerly's sophisticated audience of lawyers and government officials. You will be based at the court (at home under current restrictions) and will be responsible for attending (remote) hearings and filing 2 to 3 stories a day.
The job best suits a bright, curious, enthusiastic and resourceful reporter who has an interest in the drama and conflict of high-stakes legal battles. Applicants should have at least one year's experience in daily news reporting. Some experience with business or legal news would be a big plus.
Plenty of opportunities for advancement exist in this role for the right candidates.
