Please note that this position is based in Derby with an hourly rate from $60 - $80, superannuation (11% & up-to 7% Council matching). Hourly rate is awarded based on experience and qualifications.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise and engaging stories for diverse audiences across various platforms
- Strong research and investigative skills, with the capacity to gather information from multiple sources, analyse data and write up stories in an accessible format.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships and rapport with a range of stakeholders in the community.
- Flexibility, adaptability and resilience to work under tight deadlines, manage competing priorities and navigate sensitive topics with professionalism.
- Ability to travel around the Kimberley to source stories is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in journalism, media communications or written communication, preferably with a focus on local government, community reporting or public news.
