AddressFull-time or Part-time Journalist
Newstime Media, publisher of Canberra Weekly magazine and Canberra Daily website (www.canberradaily.com.au), is seeking a full-time or part-time journalist to join its editorial team.
Ideally, candidates will have some experience in newspapers, magazines or online. Tertiary qualifications in journalism will be a distinct advantage.
A strong instinct for news and capacity to pitch and pursue unique stories is essential, as is an interest in local government, community news, and the local arts and entertainment scene.
An understanding of issues of interest to the Canberra community, and a useful network within the ACT, will be an advantage.
Sub-editing and photography skills are desirable as are social media skills including videography.
Candidates should be enthusiastic, punctual, conscientious and have an ability to connect with people. A current driver's licence and reliable car are a necessity.
