Junior Accountant needed for a growing service provider in Altona - permanent role - $60,000-$70,000k + super

Your new company

A growing service provider is utilised all over Melbourne as a "one-stop shop" for household safety needs.  They’re part of a group of 3 companies and are experiencing success and growth for their services. Due to a longstanding employee of over 10 years changing careers, they now require a Junior Accountant to join the team.

Your new role

You’ll be joining a small finance team which offers you the opportunity to really make the role of Junior Accountant your own. You will be supported by the company's Senior Accountant and report to them as well as directly to the CEO. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in reshaping their accounts receivable process whilst chasing outstanding debtors along with general accounting support.   Duties will include:

• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts receivable and debt collection
• BAS lodgement
• Payroll
• Data entry
• General accounting support
• Liaising with an offshore accountancy team for invoicing and AP
• Adhoc admin and accountancy tasks

What you'll need to succeed

You’re passionate about numbers and ready to step into a role where you can put your own stamp on the service, along with:

• Xero accounting software competence
• Highly numerate with intermediate Excel skills
• Happy to be fully in office (potential for 1 day working from home once training is complete)
• Being a team player and highly adaptable
• Citizenship or PR or the capacity to remain in Australia for years to come (the last person in the role was there for over 10 years, they are looking for longevity!)
