Junior Accountant

Introduction to the role

An opportunity to join a Global market-leading provider of Geospatial IT services. we-do-IT Group of companies are a key provider of specialist GIS consulting, development, training, and support services to a wide range of clients in Australia, New Zealand, North America, Germany, and India.

We are currently seeking a Junior Accountant professional to join our small finance team for a role based in Australia.  This is a remote opportunity (working from home although extensive training will be provided), therefore you can be based anywhere in Australia. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer with operational duties as directed by the Senior Financial Accountant your responsibilities will include:

The Role:

• Responsible for end-to-end month end processes for several entities
• Ability to bring financials to Trial Balance/P&L/Balance Sheet stage.
• Assist with payroll preparation. 
• Assist with month end reconciliations.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes. 
• Assist with processing timely bank payments and accurate reconciliations.
• Comply with financial policies and regulations.
• Work as directed by the Senior Financial Accountant

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in finance/accounting       
• Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct) is preferred.
• Accuracy and attention to detail 
• Proficient in MS Excel to intermediate/experienced level
• Excellent communication skills with proven ability to demonstrate initiative and have good attention to detail are essential 
• This is a hands-on role so requires someone willing to take on transactional level work for example customer and supplier invoicing
• Ability to work in a small team although training will be provided
