Job description

Peninsula Personal Injury Lawyers is a boutique personal injury law firm who work collaboratively across two offices in North Perth and Mandurah. This Mandurah based role will see you join a friendly, dynamic, fast-paced team. Your main objective will be to provide accounts and admin support within the finance team.

We provide support to people who have been injured at Work / in a Motor Vehicle Accident / Public Liability claim (slips etc).  We support them to manage the process and maximise their entitlements financially.  We give them the right advise to settle their claim at the right time for our clients.  We love our work and get great job satisfaction helping our clients achieve great results after dealing with a traumatic experience, injuries and/or stress.

Although we have two offices -we are a great team who work together really closely supporting each other to achieve results for our clients.

We work really hard - as we can be really busy - but we also play hard.  We get together as a team every 3 months or so for social events sponsored by PPIL.  

We have great transparency between staff and management and support our staff to manage workloads as we grow.

About You:

You describe yourself as a friendly professional who thrives in roles supporting others. You are comfortable in an account’s assistant role, eager to further develop your skills and possess a strong attention to detail. You are organised, thrive in a fast-paced working environment entailing tight deadlines.

The Opportunity:

We offer a day off for your birthday!!

The hours are full time Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm or you can choose to work 8am to 5pm on a 9-day fortnight! Your rostered day off will be nominated by the employer to balance workloads and deadlines 😊

Working in our Mandurah office, you will be providing accounts and admin support to the business.

Duties will include:

  • Weekly processing & scheduling of business invoices and loading for payment.
  • Loading weekly client disbursement invoices for payment.
  • Preparation for & reconciling of bank accounts, in File Pro and Xero.
  • Data processing and reconciling of petty cash accounts.
  • Support regarding settlements of claims (follow ups, payment of settlement).
  • Sending Trust statements monthly.
  • Various other bookkeeping / accounting responsibilities.
  • Communication with clients regarding settlements.
  • Various administration tasks to assist other members of the team.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • 1-2 years previous experience in an Accounts/Bookkeeper position.
  • A Certificate IV in Bookkeeping will be advantageous.
  • Experience with Software Package Xero is essential for this role.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to handle a busy role juggling multiple tasks.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Proven experience in your ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written & verbal Communication Skills.
  • Be confident and comfortable when engaging with clients on the phone or in person.
