The Role & Company
Working as a Junior Design Manager across D&C projects up the value of $50M you will be working under the Group Design Manager and being mentored day to day in the head office with regular site visits. You will have worked for a Head Contractor and have completed your construction degree. This role would suit a site based Project Coordinator or Site Engineer who enjoys the Design process and wants a long term role in this specialist position.
This is a critical role within the Company as large scale construction projects become less documented and the Design accountability is increasingly falling on the Head Contractor. Specialising in a highly rewarding role you will be responsible across securing Development Approvals, navigating the Town Planning process, Coordinating Consultants and securing a CC so projects can become real. You with enjoy reviewing different construction methodologies and providing Value Engineering options / analysing the feasibility of Design's on up and coming projects that are key to a projects success.
The Builder are a privately owned, Tier 2 Contractor who have an enviable track record of 85% repeat business. Working across the commercial, state government and local authority sectors, they have a stable Senior Management team and an excellent staff retention rate. The have industry leading systems in place, a strong order book of forward work and an ethical approach to business and employment. Throughout COVID19 the business has made no redundancies and expanded their workforce by 20% due to their ability to deliver for their clients. T/O this Financial Year has seen them deliver over $200M of work and they continue to grow,
Qualifications & Experience
- You will have completed your Construction Management Degree
- You MUST have experience working for the Head Contractor / Builder - 2 Years Minimum.
- You will ideally have worked on commercial projects $20M+ in a Site Based role
- Experience on commercial projects $10M+ is the minimum expectation
- You will have had exposure to industry leading software such as Cheops or Procore
- Exposure to D&C projects is highly desirable
- You will be commercially astute, honest and have a strong, team focused work ethic
