Junior Electrical Engineer

A rare opportunity now exists for a Junior / Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join a well established Building Services team in Melbourne.

The Company has been servicing Victoria for over two decades with continued success and growth. Currently employing over 50 permanent staff, this contractor prides themselves in providing quality electrical solutions and services to their strong Tier 1 and Tier 2 client portfolio. The Projects they cover are across a range of commercial, industrial, retail, institutional, mixed-used developments, residential, public and iconic landmarks.

The Role is a newly created position. The responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

• Interpret designs given by clients, architects and engineering consultants and provide value engineering options
• Drawing reviews, take offs, detailed quantities take offs.
• Produce and assist with tenders preparations, procurement and quotations
• Working with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate competitive pricing and information.
• Preparing material, labour costs and project budgets
• Providing effective support to Project managers to enable effective critical path execution of the project plan
• Knowledge of Microsoft projects and Levey's an advantage

The Successful Applicant will have either a strong design background within a consulting firm or a strong track record working for an Electrical Contractor. You will have excellent communication skills, a strong business acumen and sound local knowledge of electrical systems. Ideally, we are seeking a professional with five (5) years' experience as an Estimator or Designer with appropriate trade qualifications / A Grade Electrician certification and/or Engineering Diploma or Degree.
