An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Family Lawyer to join an established, leading law firm located in the Western Suburbs. The firm is seeking a candidate with 1-4 years PAE to work on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the Directors in all aspects of file management and document preparation, which includes drafting routine legal documents, collecting information, and liaising with clients.
The role also involves providing legal and administrative support to the Directors, fielding initial inquiries from prospective clients, attending initial face-to-face meetings with prospective clients, and taking detailed client instructions together with the Directors. Additionally, the successful applicant will undertake research for the firm, draft correspondence and Family Court documents, attend Community Legal Centres to provide advice, and attend the Family Court, including court appearances and inspection of documents.
The ideal candidate should have an aspiration to practice exclusively in family law, superior interpersonal skills, exceptional grammar and writing skills, excellent knowledge of Family Court procedures, rules, and regulations, resourceful research and analytical skills, the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, experience in the use of FilePro (or similar) legal practice management software, and experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
