Junior Family Lawyer

Our client is an established leading law firm located in the Western Suburbs who is  looking for a Junior Family Lawyer (1 - 4 years PAE) to join their team on a full-time basis.
The successful applicant will provide assistance to the Directors in all aspects of file management and document preparation. This includes drafting routine documents, collection of information relevant to matters and liaising with clients. The successful applicant will additionally manage their own file load with the direction and supervision of the Directors.
The Role:
• Providing legal and administrative support to the Directors
• Fielding initial enquiries from prospective clients
• Attending initial face to face meetings with prospective clients and taking detailed client instructions (together with Directors)
• Undertaking research for the firm
• Drafting correspondence and Family Court documents
• Attendance at Community Legal Centres to provide advice
• Attending the Family Court (including court appearances and inspection of documents)
• Other duties may be reasonably requested from time to time
Essential Skills and Experience
• Aspiration to practise exclusively in family law
• Superior interpersonal skills
• Exceptional grammar and written skills
• Excellent knowledge of Family Court procedures, rules and regulations
• Resourceful research and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Experience in the use of FilePro (or similar) legal practice management software
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
