About the role
Based in our Head office in Essendon Fields, an excellent career opportunity exists for an experienced Junior Financial Accountantwho has a strong desire to contribute and participate in the exciting opportunities arising within a dynamic, technology business with growth and expansion plans.
Working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders, this position is responsible for playing a key role in supporting the finance department in various accounting functions.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger.
- Record and categorize financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process supplier invoices as well as generating and sending customer invoices.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Oversee payroll processing.

Skills and experience
Experience
- Must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Residency.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field and working towards CA/CPA qualification
- 1 - 2 years relevant experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to maintain excellent relationships with a range of key stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills with an ability to plan and prioritise competing work requirements and work towards tight deadlines.
- Adaptable and able to work autonomously and in dynamic, fast paced team environment.
- Proactive and reactive problem solving skills with an ability to “think outside the box”
