We are seeking those looking to work full time as a Junior House Officer (JHO) or Senior House Officer (SHO) within Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT), to provide medical care under the supervision and direction of Consultants and Senior Medical staff.
Salary range: MPHT pays competitive pay rates, penalties, and entitlements to our Junior Medical officers. This includes a 5-week BLOCK of ARL and 10 days sick leave, with current base wage rate of $94,812 - $102,104 per annum plus superannuation, plus penalties (commensurate with experience).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide quality patient care via clinical assessment, admissions and development of management plans in liaison with your consultant.
- Initiate and interpret clinical investigations
- Liaise with team members including Allied Health and communicate with patients and their relatives as required
- Prepare for and attend ward rounds.
- Undertake an initial assessment of referred patients and discuss a formulated plan with the consultant and clinical coordinator (when applicable).
- Participate in the discharge planning process and communicate with community providers.
- Provide patient updates and changes to your consultant, clinical coordinator/team leader, nurse.
- Planning overall clinical care.
- The day-to-day review of patients and safe handover of patient care to after-hours staff.
- Documentation of the patient's progress in the patient record.
- Participate in the discharge planning process and communicate with community providers through discharge letters, discharge summaries and other reports as required by the Hospital.
- The provision of assistance in operating theatres
- Provide a range of teaching and support to medical students and team within the units.

About you
To be considered for a position applicants are required to:
- Be eligible for General or Provisional Registration with AHPRA
- Have at least 1-year relevant clinical postgraduate experience
- AMC1 and AMC2 and English certificate - for IMG overseas applicants
