Our client has been a big part of the Australian food industry for over 40 years with their vast experience and knowledge which has enabled them to manufacture, import, export and distribute throughout Australia. We are currently seeking a Junior Inventory Controller to join the operations team based in Tullamarine, Victoria. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager and working closely with our Tullamarine Operations team, this role will focus largely on maintaining the accuracy of the Inventory held across the business. This role is a full-time permanent opportunity, 100% onsite.
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Conduct daily stock counting as per specified count cycle and complete all SKU's by end of month
- Manage FIFO stock rotation
- Stock take planning and co-ordination
- Oversee Receiving Function
- Ensure vehicles are unloaded in a timely manner
- Oversee all receiving audit and compliance requirements including temperatures/ dates
- Oversee Inventory Location planning within the warehouse
- Allocate zone and pick face locations according to product type / volume and replenish according to set timetable or cycle to ensure stock availability
- Assist in managing the Cost of Sales files so that the factory financial reports can be completed on time.
- Working with operations staff in understanding buying patterns in inventory and working with them on improving stock turns
- Daily check for unusual transactions in the ERP and fixing them promptly.
- Analyse the age of stock and report on it to relevant stake holders.
- Monthly stocktake of raw materials, ensuring it is accurately done and reflected in the Inventory Ledger following approval. Understanding trends in movements and then making recommendations for improvements in processes.
- Effective labelling and management of Customer stock
- Preparing monthly and ad hoc inventory reports correctly reflecting inventory held in the business.

- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role in a mid-size organisation
- Ability to work hands-on with multiple stakeholders.
