A degree in Law or equivalent.
Mandatory Registration Requirement
You must be admitted or eligible for immediate admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland, and eligible for a current practicing certificate and entry in the High Court Register of Practitioners.

- Provide staff and clients with sound, professional legal or conveyancing advice and services in accordance with professional and public sector standards and Office policy and procedure.
- Represent the Office and clients before all Courts or Tribunals in which the Office or client is a party.
- Deliver superior client service by ensuring that you represent the office in a timely way in relation to client facing responsibilities.
- Comply with the standards of professional conduct required of a lawyer and the standards required by the Public Trustee and Office of the Official Solicitor.
- Adhere to Public Trustee policies and procedures on contemporary Human Resource issues including workplace health and safety practices.
- Prepare applications for probate for the Public Trustee and private (external) clients.
- Provide advice in relation to succession, disability law, trust law, property law, equity, commercial law, administrative law, and government law and policy.
- Have an understanding of and/or the ability to rapidly acquire the basic theoretical and practical aspects of the law.
