This includes growth within existing practice areas and the addition of new practice areas. We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our busy team.
Your new Role
This is a great opportunity to work within a medium-sized, client-focused, and friendly team of professionals and firm that is highly regarded in the industry. You will work closely with the Principal, Lawyers and the administrative team to provide effective and efficient legal and administrative support.
You will:
- Provide general administrative support, including acting as the functional lead and champion for at least one core administrative system/process across the firm.
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence.
- Attend to the filing of legal documents with the court.
- Screening telephone calls, enquiries, and requests, and handling them when appropriate.
- Follow up of action items with clients and internal and external communications.
- Input timesheets and attend to billing for the responsible lawyer.
- Maintain office systems, including data management and preparing conflict checks.
- Arrange meetings and organise internal and client events.
- When trained undertake property conveyancing tasks and functions.
You will bring to the position:
- Experience in a secretarial role in a professional services environment, preferably legal environment is vital to your success, is preferred but not necessary if you can demonstrate a willingness and an ability to learn.
- Able to make decisions at the appropriate level and use judgement to address issues.
- Able to manage work autonomously and as part of a team and is proactive in seeking out answers or further advice where required.
- Has a strong client service ethic and achieves high standards in a professional and confidential manner.
- Able to prepare own work plan and prioritise effectively, prioritising the important as well as the urgent.
- Is able to identify high priority problems or issues and demonstrates a sense of urgency in addressing them.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
