About The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive Junior Legal Secretary to join our team in Melbourne. In this role you will be supporting a Solicitor and Senior Legal Secretary and will be required to perform routine clerical and administrative functions including:

  • Drafting correspondence.
  • Scheduling appointments.
  • Organising meetings and diary management.
  • General administrative duties, organising and maintaining paper and electronic files.
  • Liaising with clients and other third parties.
  • Making medical appointment arrangements, and chasing medico-legal reports. 
  • Requesting and following up on reports/records.
  • Identifying legal matters and recognising legal documents.
  • Closely assisting the Solicitor and Senior Secretary within the practice with the daily operational tasks of the group. 
  • Actively assisting the team to ensure efficient work practices are maintained.

About You:

We are looking for a diligent and professional individual with a positive attitude. You will have an excellent attention to detail and an ability to work autonomously while also collaborating in a team environment.

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in administration, ideally from the legal sector or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of personal injury matters and procedures (Preferred).
  • Highly organised and able to maintain high quality work with a strong attention to detail.
  • Sound typing and document drafting skills.
  • Word processing and data entry skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Diary management and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task with accuracy during busy times.
  • Highly motivated and effective communication skills including excellent phone etiquette.
