The OrganisationThe hospital is a 400-bed public hospital that treats over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients every year. The hospital provides acute care services and is the primary referral centre for the North and North West regions of Tasmania. It is a teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania with a strong emphasis on medical education.
The Job

• As a Junior Medical Officer, you will be exposed to a range of clinical areas that will provide an opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment
• You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the hospital or rural facility
• As a Junior Medical Officer, you will perform a vital role within a multi-disciplinary team working towards achieving the best possible patient care in a contemporary and supportive clinical setting
• Your duties may include but are not limited to, admissions, discharge planning, responding to calls by the patient's care team, attending ward rounds, accurate medical record practices, efficient recording of drugs and treatment and appropriate interaction with patients and their families
• You will also provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit

Rewards

• Base salary from $92,500 - $105,000 per annum

Requirements

• Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum Level 2 supervision requirements, OR eligibility for registration via the Competent Authority Pathway
• Please note doctors seeking their first position in Australia via the Standard Pathway or doctors with current registration and Level 1 supervision requirements cannot be considered at this time.
