The Organisation
You will be working in a 38-bed public hospital in a regional town that provides a range of medical and surgical services to patients from the region and from across rural South Australia. The hospital works with Royal Adelaide Hospital (the closest large metropolitan hospital) and other regional and primary health services across rural South Australia, to care for patients and deliver telehealth services. The hospital is part of the Country Health South Australia Local Health Network (‘Country Health SA’), which is the only non-metropolitan health network in South Australia. This health service covers a population of over 470,000 people across a geographic region of close to one million square kilometres.
The Job
This position is based in the general medical wards of the hospital, It also is responsible for the medical needs of patients in the in-patient mental health unit, and rehabilitation unit
RMOs work on a favourable roster from 0830-1630 Mon-Fri with some on call during the week 1630-2300, and occasional weekend roster 0830-1630 or 0830-1300 (short roster)
The Junior Medical Officer will contribute to the provision of high-standard clinical services to patients allocated to acute services and in other clinical areas as required
You will be responsible for managing the care of patients, in consultation with your team of responsible registrars, consultants, visiting specialists, nurses and allied health professionals
You will also have the opportunity to get involved in teaching medical students as directed by supervising medical practitioners
RMOs will actively participate in unit-based and hospital-wide training and educational sessions, both scheduled and opportunistic
Rewards
Base salary from $87,934 - $142,159
In addition to the annual salary package, you also receive employer superannuation contributions and leave-loading

Requirements
Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum Level 2 supervision requirements, OR eligibility for registration via the Competent Authority Pathway
Please note doctors seeking their first position in Australia via the Standard Pathway or doctors with current registration and Level 1 supervision requirements cannot be considered at this time
