FINANCE OFFICER – MEDICAL SPECIALISTS

ABOUT OROMAX

Oromax treat conditions, defects, injuries and aesthetic aspects of the mouth, teeth, jaws and face. Oromax is one of a small number of Oral Maxillofacial practices in Australia to include both a Clinic along with a Day Hospital specialising in both medicine and dentistry. We ensure patients receive the highest standard of care. Located in Kent Town in a purpose-built facility, Oromax is the largest oral maxillofacial surgical centre in Adelaide.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced ‘hands on’ Finance Officer to join our Finance Team.  If you are enthusiastic, adapt quickly to a new environment and innovative, this is the job for you.

The role of Finance Officer will be responsible for the timely billing and collection of hospital and medical claims. Liaising with patients for payments and banking, patient queries and complaints and ensuring the timely payment from health funds and third parties. 

We welcome applications from candidates who are looking for a permanent full-time role working a 40 hour week Monday to Friday.   

The Role will encompass but is not limited to:

  • Sound knowledge of Hospital and Medical Billing with the ability to understand and interpret Medicare and Health Fund billing requirements
  • Processing and Balancing of Payments to Providers
  • Reconciling Payments and Billing
  • Debtor Management – Medicare / Health Funds / Patients / Third Parties
  • General Administration Tasks
  • Processing of accounts and assist with the resolution of account queries for patient and Health Funds
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers at all times and be able to reflect this on the phone
  • Accurate and timely invoicing Private Health Funds, Third Party & uninsured fees for inpatient, outpatient and medical services provided 
  • Pro-actively managing and resolving billing enquires from patients, health funds, providers and internal customers in a professional and efficient manner
  • Timely and accurate banking and debtor management. Continually seeking new ways to improve efficiency, reduce errors and improve customer service
  • Working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising nursing, supply, billing and administrative staff

Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Patient Management Systems [Medilink and Fydo], Xero and Microsoft Office [advantageous]

ABOUT YOU

You will need to be a team player that is focused on team results as you will be working both independently and as part of a team, with exceptional interpersonal skills both over the phone and face to face.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Medical Specialist and or Day Surgery financial experience is essential
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping qualifications would be highly regarded
  • Proven understanding of Medicare/Health Funds Claims
  • Medical accounts processing skills including knowledge of Medicare, DVA and private health funds.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on completing high quality work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of and an ability to provide excellent customer service in a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external business stakeholders.
  • Proven experience to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
