Due to continuous growth, we are seeking a Junior Designer to join our new and flourishing Design team. This role is ideal for someone relatively new to design/drafting and who possesses a creative flair and passion for residential design.
About the Role
As a Junior Designer, you will be assisting our Sales Department by producing new sales sketches in accordance with client briefs and relevant authority guidelines. The role will require you to use your creative and innovative design skills to solve problems and meet the expectations of our clients, on time and on budget. This role will also provide an excellent opportunity for career development as well as the exciting prospect of assisting in the growth and progression of our Design team for years to come.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Production of new sales sketches using the latest version of ArchiCAD
- Providing helpful design advice and information to sales consultants
- Producing hand drawn concepts upon request
- Keeping up to date and informed on all new and evolving industry standards and codes (R-Codes, NCC, etc)
- Keeping up to date and learning about new and up and coming construction materials and methods
- Liaising with local government authorities and developers
- Liaising with colleagues from internal departments about design related queries
To be successful in this role you will ideally meet the following criteria:
- Certificate IV in Residential Drafting and/or Diploma of Building Design and Technology (This is a requirement)
- Perth building industry experience in a design or drafting role
- Have a creative flair and passion for residential design
- Sound ArchiCAD skills
- Sound level of construction knowledge
- Understanding of relevant industry codes and regulations (R-Codes, NCC)
- Have fantastic written & verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills
- Professional presentation
- Ability to liaise at all levels within the organisation
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The ability to multi-task
