We are seeking a suitably qualified Junior Science and Senior Psychology Teacher to work with our dedicated Academic Staff as we extend our students to achieve their potential.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Successfully implement the Australian Curriculum in the nominated learning areas and collaboratively develop quality student-centred learning sequences.
  • Embrace our College policies and practices which prioritise effective pedagogical practices.
  • Promote our College MMC Learning Dispositions to be Curious, Creative, Self-directed and Resilient
  • Proactively engage with professional renewal practices to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Work in partnership with the College Leadership Team, Middle Leaders, Academic Staff and School Officers, and contribute to the life of the College.

  • Develop a nurturing and creative learning environment, founded on high expectations which intentionally prioritises student-centred learning
  • Have a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum, assessment and reporting expectations and experience in enacting a systematic curriculum delivery.

  • Demonstrate high level organisational skills.
  • Implement innovative and creative practices.
  • An ability to identify and cater for high potential learning and students requiring support.

About the role - As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

  • Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy

  • Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Junior Science and Senior Psychology Teaching as well as:

  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:

  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

FAQ: Do I have to be Catholic? If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
Yes, for primary and Religious Education teachers. Regarding a pathway to become Catholic, some employees opt to undertake the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
