We have an exciting opportunity in the Corporate Identity team for a Junior Software Developer position.

Reporting into Corporate Technology Stream Lead you will be part of the Business As Usual Support Unit and is responsible for the development, testing, deployment and support of the Identity Management System including further enhancements. You will be working with like-minded people in this field and industry, sharing knowledge and know-how of latest Identity Access Management strategies and technologies. You shall enjoy autonomy and contribute to the wider team initiatives.

What you will do

As an integral member of the Corporate Identity team, you will:

  • Under the guidance of senior engineers, learn and understand logic and coding used in current design and architecture solutions
  • Develop or Modify code as per development requirements in accordance to testing standards, that ensures all code remains secure, functional, supportable and accessible
  • Plan delivery activities with senior engineers to escalate risks to ensure deliverables meet their agreed acceptance criteria
  • Provide updates in relevant development stream on assigned tasks that enable senior engineers and leaders to make informed decisions
  • Perform basic engineering investigations with the assistance of senior engineers, that assist with the migration, transformation or implementation of technology solutions, services and components roadmaps
  • Contribute to documenting a products design to assist in identifying risks, dependencies when planning development activities

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

  • Previous experience in development role of software components especially with java programming language or similar
  • Experience in writing SQL queries
  • Experience in developing code from tools operating in Linux and/or Windows
  • Experience operating in Docker and Kubernetes environments, developing and consuming Rest APIs would be a plus
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to provide technical support to end-users and resolving IT-related problems
  • Initiative to contribute to the continuous improvement of the team knowledge base including creating/updating knowledge articles to ensure that solutions to known issues are current and well documented
