Spotty Dog Brewery & Taphouse is situated in Prince of Wales Bay, with Hobart’s best views over the local marina and Kunanyi. Our in-house kitchen, Chicken Shop, serves amazing fried chicken, burgers, and perfect food to pair with our award winning beers brewed on site.
Job Description
Chicken Shop is looking for a full time (4 days per week) Junior Sous Chef to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and cooking of all menu items to a consistently high standard
- Assist head chef in designing new dishes based on seasonal changes
- Ensure efficient operations and flow of the kitchen
- Maintain stock control & wastage levels
- Maintain high standards of hygiene
- Comply with and enforce food safety regulations and safety standards
- In charge of kitchen in the absence of head chef
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills and Experience
- 2+ years experience in a similar position
- Current and relevant trade commercial cookery qualification (proof may be required)
- Highly self-motivated to achieve tasks alone and with a team
- Teamwork oriented with outstanding leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge of food preparation, various cooking methods and ingredients, equipment, presentation and preservation procedures
- Effective planning, problem-solving and implementation skills
- Current drivers licence
- Brewery and/or functions experience is a bonus
- Full work right in Australia
Salary and Benefits
- Industry leading salary dependant on experience
- Full time (Thursday-Sunday) with flexible Time in Lieu arrangement
- 4 weeks paid annual leave
