You will need to have a level of skill commensurate with either completion of Certificate III and at least three years of on-the-job training, or successful Certificate IV completion. Ideally the successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.

What we expect
- a stable working history.
- Knowledge in kitchen management systems, stocktake, costings and financial control.
- Willingness to assist in modern and on trend menu development with the head chef.
- Attention to detail while presenting a high standard of attractive and tasty dishes for our patrons.
- Strong communication skills with a good attitude towards front and back of house staff.
- At least 3 years’ experience in commercial kitchens.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations including hygiene policies.
Tasks Include
- planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- discussing food preparation issues with Managers, and kitchen and waiting staff
- demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- preparing and cooking food
- explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- may select and train staff
- may freeze and preserve foods
