We are seeking an enthusiastic Special Education (RAAP) teacher to join our engaging and dynamic team.
This position involves teaching a Year 5 student 1:1 returning from the Accept program, in a category 6 index of educational disadvantage school. Learning and pedagogy that is personalised, differentiated to student need, supporting engagement and the development of pro-social skills and build capacity to learn with other students is a requirement. Knowledge and practical application of positive behaviour strategies, safety interventions restorative practice, disability inclusive strategies, knowledge of DfE policies and practices, WH&S, Safety and Risk plans is also highly desirable. The position also requires working collaboratively with an SSO and other members of the year level team. The school's vision includes a focus on building strong relationships with the school and parent community.
What you will do:
- Exercise initiative and judgement in planning and co-ordinating a personalised learning program and an appropriate educational environment for a student living on the autism spectrum.
- Develop and implement engagement and behaviour management strategies and processes, promote and share with school and Partnership personnel, parents/caregivers and other agencies involved in supporting the students.
- Document program objectives, collect and analyse data of student outcomes to report to site leadership, parents/caregivers, services and agencies.
- Implement strategies and recommendations as described in report documentation from government and non-government service providers.
