Killara 2 Day Nanny (French Speaking Nanny)

A professional and loving family in Killara, Sydney are seeking a patient and responsible French Speaking Nanny to care for their three children (Boys aged 10 and 7 and a 2year old girl).

The days and normal hours are:- 2 Days – Approx 18 hours per week Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri

8.00am - 6.00pm or 9.00am - 5.00pm

An ideal nanny will be patient and has a genuine passion and love of children and helping out a busy family. A nanny that is reliable, flexible, responsible and trustworthy.

Additionally you will be attentive, proactive and an easy going nanny. Enjoys engaging and having fun with the children, spending time indoors and outdoors and providing stimulating and creative playful activities which will support the children’s learning milestones and development.

The nanny must speak exclusively in French to the youngest child, in addition, must engage in intentional teaching throughout the day, reinforcing her understanding of the language through engagement in everyday activities, reading, games, songs. She understands a lot already, so encouraging her to speak in French will also be important.

Prior experience with toddlers and school aged children is advantageous for this role.

The older children are at school throughout so the nanny will be required to walk them to school and from time to time to collect them from school and to take them to afternoon activities. Whilst the older children are at school and the youngest is napping the nanny will assist with household chores, meal prep etc.

The family are looking for a nanny who can build a lovely bond with their family and support the day to day running of the household.

The carer’s responsibilities for this role will be as follows –

• To care for the children
• Follow the children's routines
• Drop off and pick up children from school
• Play and engage age appropriate creative activities to assist in the children’s development
• Take the youngest out to activities in the park, playground etc.
• Take the older children to their afterschool activities (occasionally and depending on the day)
• Prepare meals and snacks for the children. Assist with meal prep for the family and cooking of a meal to be eaten later in the week.
• Light household duties -ie General tidy of children’s toys, pack/unpack dishwasher. Hang out / fold / put away children’s clothes. Change &; wash children’s sheets and towels.
• Assistance with the children’s laundry (washing clothes, uniforms, sheets) and re-making the beds would be appreciated.
• Homework assistance/supervision

The family’s expectations from their nanny are –

• 3+ years experience as a nanny or in a childcare setting
• Child care qualification preferred
• Have a current Working with Children’s Check
• Current First Aid
• Display strong communication skills and speak French and English
• Physically healthy and active
• Non smoking/Vaper
• Up to date with all vaccinations
• Can prep and cook healthy food
• Full drivers licence and clean driving record (preferred but not essential)
