Kiewa Valley Kindergarten Director / Teacher
Kiewa Valley Kindergarten is a stand alone kindergarten privately operated by a local management team. We offer funded 3 and 4 year old programs to children of the Kiewa Valley and surrounding areas.
Our service offers two groups of 4 year old kindergarten. These run on a Monday/Wednesday and a Tuesday/Thursday 8.30 – 4pm. We also have one 3 year old group that attend for a full day on a Friday and a full day with our 4 year old groups on a Monday and Wednesday. All our kindergarten sessions operate out of the Early Years Building at Kiewa Valley Primary School. We have a great relationship with the primary school and have access to some of their amazing facilities, like the library.
We are currently seeking a passionate Kindergarten Teacher/Director to join and lead our dedicated team, starting in May 2024. We are looking for someone who has experience in directing a kindergarten and delivering high quality early childhood programs. The successful applicant must also work well with others and have great leadership and communication skills
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience in teaching and directing a kindergarten
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong passion for working with children and families in a community focused setting
• Strong administrative skills (experience with KIMS an advantage)
• Previous experience as a nominated supervisor or Educational Leader.
• Knowledge and a commitment to child safety and child safe standards
• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
• Working with Children’s Check
• Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills
• Exceptional time management skills
• A thorough understanding of the EYLF, NQS and other legislative requirements
• Current Child Protection qualifications
• Current VIT registration
• Understanding of kindergarten funding and SRF (or a desire to learn this)
• Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with all staff members, children, and families
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving and conflict resolution
