About the Location
Set just seven minutes’ drive from Cairns’ CBD, Cairns Coconut is an 11-hectare landscaped tropical oasis which holds its own against Cairns’ popular visitor attractions – the Great Barrier Reef, Wet Tropics Rainforest and Atherton Tablelands.
About the Role
As Kitchen Hand, you will be responsible for kitchen cleaning duties as well as assisting line cooks by completing food preparation tasks.
This is a casual position.
Responsibilities
Food Storage and Preparation
Store and sort food in the correct manner
Receive and sort supplies and deliveries
Prepare other food for cooking as directed by the chef in charge
Follow proper hygienic food handling practices
Carry out any other duties as advised from time to time
Cleaning and Sanitation
Wash and sort plates, cups, cutlery and cooking equipment
Dispose of rubbish and waste
Organise the sorting of recycling materials
Keep all work areas, cool room, storeroom and rear areas tidy
Clean and sanitise all areas of the kitchen, all kitchen equipment, crockery and cutlery
Sweep and mop all floor areas in the kitchen and corridors leading to the kitchen
Maintain the kitchen equipment and plant in good condition
Workplace Health and Safety
Comply with Ingenia’s WHS Policy and Procedures and any reasonable instructions from any supervisor/authorised representative of the company concerning health and safety matters
About You
Knowledge of HACCP and an understanding of how it relates to our Food Safety Program
Food Safety Training Accreditation
Self-motivated and pro-active team player
Well organised and time conscious
Good communicator
Keen eye for detail
