As Manager Business Support Services, you will specifically:
- Provide timely and accurate strategic and operational information, advice and analysis to the Executive Director and the management team on business services, financial, information management and other administrative and business issues, including monitoring performance against the strategic and business plan key performance indicators.
- Provide high level strategic advice to the Executive Director and Management team regarding the development and ongoing management of the centre's annual budget in accordance with operational plans and departmental requirements. Manage the Centre budget (with the support of tools such as SAS and SAPr3) to effectively analyse and report on financial performance against agreed objectives through the development of monitoring and reporting systems. Analyse systems and processes to ensure the financial integrity of business operations.
- Oversee projects in relation to business services and operations management issues including learning & development, recruitment and selection, and systems to manage the work performance of staff and the development of a workforce plan.
- Build and maintain professional client relationships with other stakeholders, including QBuild, Youth Detention Operations, other Queensland Youth Detention Centre staff and the Learning Support Unit, which will facilitate professional management practices.
- Ensure that the necessary business services roles and responsibilities are implemented to achieve and ensure effective and efficient service delivery, including rostering, performance management and service delivery outcomes, with consideration to occupational health and safety and workplace rehabilitation needs.
- Participate as an effective member of the Centre's management team in the development, promotion and implementation of the Department of Communities strategic direction, the Youth Detention Centre Policies and Procedures, the Centre's operational plans and rules and day-to-day business and operational issues.
- Effectively lead, supervise and manage staff to ensure the development of integrated teamwork and professionalism and the achievement of youth detention goals and philosophies.
