The Role
This is a hands-on role where you will provide a respectful food service and nutritious, balanced meals for residents in our Rooming House in accordance with their dietary and health requirements. Your ability to understand client behaviours will be enable you to excel in this role. We currently have one Casual role available.
You will:
- Undertake food preparation tasks in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Clean the dining room including dishes.
- Assist with stocking the kitchen.
- Follow up with tenancy or support services if a client appears to require support.
- On weekends, take full responsibility for food preparation and service.
About You
You will demonstrate relevant experience, preferably in a similar residential setting with a high-volume food output. In addition, you will have basic cooking skills and a comprehensive understanding of kitchen safety.
Essential Criteria:
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate to a diverse audience.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently as part of a wider team and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to the right of all people to affordable and sustainable housing.
Please note that a satisfactory Police Check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide an NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
