Your new role
As a L1 IT Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for staff and students who need technical assistance. You will be responsible for:
- Answering phone calls and emails from users and logging tickets in the system
- Troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues, such as password resets, printer problems, network connectivity, etc.
- Escalating complex issues to higher levels of IT support when necessary
- Providing remote support to users in different locations
- Installing and configuring new IT equipment and software
- Updating and maintaining IT documentation and records
- Following IT policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with security standards
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A certificate or diploma in IT or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional manner
- A customer-focused attitude and a strong problem-solving ability
- A good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and common IT hardware and software
- A current Working with Vulnerable Peoples check, or the ability to obtain one
