Alpha HPA is an ASX-listed speciality metals and materials company. You will be working as part of a low environmental impact sustainable business, committed to supporting decarbonisation technologies with their innovative refining process.
As the Laboratory Analyst (Shift Relief), your direct reporting line will be to the Laboratory Team Leader.
Your primary responsibilities include the preparation and analysis of process samples using various laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation.
This is a full-time role involving shift work, providing relief to laboratory team members during periods of leave, with 12-hour day and night shifts.
During periods when relief work is not needed, the role will involve scheduled work across different shift crews on day shifts.
The ideal candidate for this position must have a robust understanding of laboratory systems and processes, along with excellent organisational skills. Your strong and effective written and verbal communication will be crucial to your success in this role.

- Qualifications in Laboratory Practices or a degree in Science/Chemistry
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a laboratory analytical role in a heavy industry.
- Proven and demonstrated experience within a chemical handling/process laboratory environment
- Good working knowledge of quality management systems and processes.
- Experience with industrial safe work procedures and practices.
- Ability to work independently and be part of a team.
- Positive, self-motivated with a proactive & resilient attitude.
The Alpha HPA Production Facility is the application of the company’s licensed Smart SX technology to produce a range of high purity aluminium products, most notably their Ultra High Purity Alumina, Ultra High Purity Precursors and Ultra Boehmite.
These products will provide the raw materials used by leading decarbonisation growth industries including LED lighting and lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles.
